These are images about the 6 November event for which Professor Wole Soyinka was honoured among other Nobel laureates as well as cultural and art advocates such as actor Tim Robbins. Prof Soyinka was given the highest seal of the City of Florence, acknowledging him as one of the world’s leading art, culture and peace advocates. He is the first to get the medal that is uniquely designed to recognise world leaders. Also recognised was the work of Sam Okello, who uses art to train former child soldiers in Uganda.
The conference brought mayors from cities around the world as well as human rights and art and cultural advocates.
