President Muhammadu Buhari met briefly for five minutes today with his predecessor , Goodluck Jonathan in Aso Villa, Abuja.
Jonathan left the Villa thereafter without speaking with journalists.
The former president was in Tanzania two weeks ago as head of AU Observer team to the elections in the country.
The meeting in Abuja took place amidst controversy between President Buhari’s aides and some members of Jonathan’s party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
President in an interview in New Delhi India, had said Nigeria was broke and that the country was vandalised by the Jonathan administration.
Publicity secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh criticised Buhari for ‘de-marketing’ Nigeria. But Buhari’s media adviser, Femi Adesina said President Buhari would never lie to Nigerians and would say things as they are.
