Ekwulobia Prison: Boko Haram suspects taken away

THE 47 Boko Haram detainees, who were being held at Ekwulobia Prison in Aguata local government area of Anambra State have been removed.

They were moved on Tuesday night out of the medium security prison, the Vanguard Online has reported.

The detention of the suspects here in June triggered several protests by traders and other concerned citizens of the state.

Governor of the state, Willie Obiano also, made representations to Abuja.

Signs that the suspects had been moved was the absence of heavy security around the prison.

The gate of the prison was also open, unlike what the situation had been for the past three months, the report stated.
