Ajimobi vs Ladoja: Tuesday Judgment Day

The verdict will finally be given on Tuesday in  the governorship tussle in Oyo state between Abiola Ajimobi of the All Progressives Congress and Rasheed Ladoja of the Accord Party.

The  Election Petition Tribunal, headed by Justice Mohammed Mayaki   has notified lawyers and the parties that it is ready with its judgment, about four weeks after  the adoption of the written addresses of lawyerson 30 September.

Ladoja is challenging the victory of Governor Abiola Ajimobi  in the  April 11 polls.

He joined APC, INEC and the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Rufus Akeju, as co-respondents.

Chief  Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Counsel to Ajimobi, urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition, saying that it lacked merit and facts

The Counsel to the petitioner, Mr Richard Ogunwole (SAN), alleging vote fraud, urged the tribunal to nullify Ajimobi’s election and declare his client as the winner of the election or order a rerun.
