Ahmed: Assembly approves 10 commissioners

The Kwara State House Assembly on Tuesday confirmed the 10 Commissioner-nominees presented to it by Governor  Abdulfatah Ahmed.

The Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad, announced the confirmation of all the nominees at plenary after the screening of the nominees which lasted over four hours.

The confirmed nominees were Alhaji Musa Yeketi, Asa Local Government; Alhaji Idris Garba, Baruteen; Mr Taiwo Joseph, Ekiti; Aro Yahaya, Ifelodun; and Alhaji Abdulrazaq Akorede, Ilorin East.

Others are Ayo Bolakale, Ilorin West; Kamaldeen Ajibade, Ilorin West; Ademola Banu, Irepodun; Alhaja Mahmud Ajeigbe, Offa and Hajia Funmilayo Isiaka-Oniwa, Moro.

The Speaker directed the Clerk to communicate the confirmation of the nominees to the governor.

The nominees were from nine local government areas of the 16 in the state.

The Assembly complex was filled with  relations, friends and well wishers of the nominees.

Also during plenary, the House approved the request of the governor to secure a N10 billion loan from two commercial banks in llorin to finance developmental projects in the state.

The House gave the approval after adopting a motion moved by the House Leader, Hassan Oyeleke.
