Breaking News: Maiduguri mosque bombed, scores feared dead

About  48 hours after a multiple bomb blast rocked Maiduguri, north east Nigeria, another twin bombing has been reported in a mosque in the town.

Reports are still sketchy but the bombs were said to have exploded when the mosque in Mala neighbourhood of the city was packed with worshippers.

Scores of people are feared dead. Since the bombing had taken place at night, the true position of casualties may not be known until Friday morning.

On Tuesday, blasts detonated by three suicide bombers killed at least seven people. Eleven people were injured.

The explosions are the worst attacks on the city, capital of Borno state, since 54 people were killed and 90 injured in bombings three weeks ago.
