Senate President Bukola Saraki and Senators Melaye and Sani Yerima: no witch-hunt please

Ahead of the screening   of President Muhammadu Buhari ministerial nominees on Tuesday, the Northern Christian Solidarity Forum (NCSF) has asked Senator to avoid using the Ministerial screening to witch hunt nominees.

The NCSF which is a Non Governmental Organisation that focuses on strengthening unity among Christians and Muslims extraction of Northern Nigeria said doing so will create friction and crisis that might destroy the good intentions of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The National Chairman of the Forum and a former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria , Kaduna State Chapter, Reverend John Joseph Hayab who made this known  in a statement,   urged Senators to be fair and  thorough  when the screening process commences .

The Christian Forum also urged members of the National Assembly, especially the Senators not to use the screening of the Ministers to settle political scores.

It however rebuked the Senate for agreeing that the Ministerial nominee must have the approval of at least two Senators from their state to scale through.

According to the Christian Forum , to say that two Senators must accept the Ministerial  nominee from their State of origin  is a sign of vendetta. Adding, “They should follow the constitutional provisions and do the right thing.”

And where a ministerial nominee is not qualified, it advised the senators to tell Nigerians why this is so.
