Mrs Kemi Adeosun, nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari as a minister, has been cleared  by the Ogun State House of Assembly to be a commissioner in the state.

Adeosun was among the 18 nominees sent by Governor Ibikunle Amosun as commissioners.

She was the finance commissioner in Amosun’s first term.

Adeosun scaled the house’s hurdle, along with 17 other Commissioner nominees.

The house also approved a request for  20 Special Advisers sent to it  Gov. Ibikunle Amosun.

The approval came after the Deputy Speaker, Mr Olakunle Oluomo, had presented the report of the committee of the whole house on the screening of the nominees at the plenary in Abeokuta.
Oluomo said that the committee scrutinised the curriculum vitae of the nominees thoroughly and found them worthy to occupy the exalted position as members of the state executive council.

“It is therefore recommended that the request of the governor for confirmation of the nominees for the post of Commissioners and approval of 20 Special Advisers be consented to by this honourable House,’’ he said.

“The commissioner nominees scrutinised are Messers Rotimi Durojaye, Ademola Adeife, Jide Ojuko, Sunday Bamiwola, Dr Babatunde Ipaye, Bolaji Oyeleye, Leke Adewolu, Afolabi Afuwape, Gbenga Ademosun, Kolawole Lawal, Segun Abiodun and Olumide Ayeni.

“Others are Bimbo Ashiru, Olamilekan Adegbite, Muyiwa Oladipo, Mrs Adenike Osoba, Mrs Ronke Sokefun, Mrs Kemi Adeosun and Mrs Yewande Amusan,” the Speaker said after receiving the report.

Mr Adeyinka Mafe, the Majority Leader, moved the motion for the adoption of the report of the committee, which was seconded by Mr Razak Oduntan.

Mafe also moved the motion for the confirmation of the nominees after the adoption of the report of the House and the approval of the 20 Special Advisers.
