Breaking News: Damaturu bombed again

Two bomb blasts have been reported in Damaturu, capital of Yobe state, North east Nigeria according to various sources.

The bombs were said to have exploded at Buhari Housing Estate  and Ministry of Housing Quarters in the city.  No fewer than 16 people died and 10 people were injured.

Alhaji Musa Idi, Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) confirmed the incident to newsmen in Damaturu.

Sources at Buhari estate said that two teenage suicide bombers were identified as being behind the explosion in the area which led to the death of five people.

Two earlier explosions at the ministry of housing quarters led to the death of 11 people including the suicide bombers.

NAN reported that normalcy has returned to the state capital as schools opened while workers and businessmen went about their normal business.
