The Nigerian army today announced the lifting of restrictions imposed on the states of Borno and Yobe during the Eid-el-Kabir festival. The restriction had banned all kinds of animal or vehicular movement in the two states.
A statement said to emanate from the Theatre Command of Operation Lafiya Dole, announced the suspension of restriction of movement into and out of the two states.
“People can now move freely but should exercise maximum caution and alertness and should promptly report any suspicious individual or movements around them to the nearest military or any security agency close to them.
“We appreciate the cooperation recieved from the general public during the sallah celebrations”, the statement added.
There was no security breach in the major cities of the two states, except in remote areas, where Boko Haram members still on the loose attacked innocent villagers.
