The new legal year in Lagos state Judiciary will take off tomorrow.
As is the practice, the new year will be heralded by prayers at both Lagos Central Mosque and Anglican Cathedral Church, Marina.
Thereafter the chief Judge of the state, Mrs Olufunmilayo Atilade will inspect a Guard of honour at the premises of the Lagos State High Court, Igbosere Lagos Island. A Police Band will entertain.
The new Legal year of the Federal high court in Nigeria will commence on 12 October this year at Nasarawa, Nasarawa state
According to a release issued by the chief Judge of the Federal high court in Nigeria,Justice Ibrahim Ndahi Auta. the new Legal year will be preceded with prayers in both the Church and Mosque in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.
The prayers will be followed by a judges’ conference.
For the past two months the courts have been on vacation.
Only two judges attended to matters of extreme importance,especially matters that border on fundamental human rights.
