Hajj Stampede: 2 senior judges die, one brother of ex-INEC chairman

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, Saturday, disclosed that two Court of Appeal Justices were among those that died during the stampede that led to the death of over 700 persons at Mina, Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

One of the judges was Abdulkadir Jega, the brother of the former  Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Attahiru Jega. The other is Justice Musa Hassan Alkali.

‎Until his death,   Jega was  the Presiding Justice of the Abuja Division of the appellate court and Alkali headed  the Ilorin Division‎.

Justice Mohammed has sent condolences to their families.
