President Muhammadu Buhari will not be going to Burkina Faso after all.
His vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo will be representing him at the meeting between five other West African leaders and the military-political leaders in Burkina Faso.
The Burkinabe special mission of African leaders, to be led by Senegales President Macky Sall, was one of the decisions taken yesterday in Abuja by ECOWAS leaders . Sall heads the regional ECOWAS body at the moment.
President Muhammadu Buhari hosted the Abuja summit.
However, the crisis appears over with the restoration of Michel Kafando as the interim president and the return of General Gilbert Diendere and his coup plotters from the Presidential Guard to the barracks.
Nigeria’s Vice President is expected back to Abuja later today.
