More troubles are mounting for Bukola Saraki, Ngeria’s senate president, as a business associate, Kennedy Sule Izuagbe has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Izuagbe was a former director of Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Plc and managing director of Carlisle Properties and Investment Limited, said to be owned by Saraki. The EFCC has not made a formal charge against the former Kwara state governor, but his wife, Toyin is facing an investigation over allegations of money laundering when Saraki was governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011.

Izuagbe, 45, who is being investigated in a case of conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of over N3.6 billion, has gone into hiding and all efforts to reach him have proved abortive, the EFFC claimed in the notice issued today.

He is linked to the several shady deals and gross financial misconduct that took place in the bank, in which several millions of naira were granted as loan without due diligence.

The suspect who is believed to have fled the country, is a native of Iviukhua village, near Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The EFCC enjoins members of the public with information on the whereabouts of Izuagbe to contact any of its offices in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Gombe and Kano, or the nearest police station.

Carlisle Properties which Izuagbe runs as the CEO is mentioned in the indictment cited by the Code of Conduct Bureau against Senator Bukola Saraki, the Senate President.

The Senate president was said to have claimed ownership of a property on N0. 15A and 15 McDonald, Ikoyi, Lagos, said to have been acquired through his company, Carlisie Properties Limited, in 2000.

On Carlisle Properties Website, Izuagbe is introduced as Dr Kennedy Sule Izuagbe, following the honorary doctorate awarded him by a Cornerstone University said to be based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States.

Izuagbe has a B.Sc in Management from the University of Port Harcourt and MBA from University of Benin.

“He also has Masters in Finance from the University of Calabar. He holds a PhD (honoris causa) in Business Administration from the Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. He reportedly joined the company associated with Senator Bukola Saraki in 2007. He started his banking career with Fidelity Bank Plc as a Corps member and later moved to Savannah Bank Nigeria Plc and Societe Generale Bank Nig Ltd (SGBN), where he met Bukola Saraki. Izuagbe was Divisional Head, Internal Control of the bank which later collapsed.
