Four suspects said to involved in the robbery of two banks in Ikorodu area of Lagos state on 24 June, 2015, were today arraigned before an Ebute-Meta chief magistrate court in Lagos on a three count charge of conspiracy and robbery.‬

The four accused persons are Kowei Victor, 42; Friday Abiwa, 20; Omolaja Omoboye, 39, and 25 year-old Agbojule Bright.‬

The Presiding Chief magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Olajuwon, ordered that the four robbery suspects be remanded in prisons custody.

When the four accused persons were arraigned before the court today, the prosecuting police officer, Barrister Godwin O. Osuyi, from the Legal Department of Lagos State Police Command,told the court that the accused persons and others now at large, on June 24, 2015, at about 9.20 am, while armed with AK47, dynamites and other offensive weapons, robbed two banks, namely; First Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc.‬

Barrister Osuyi further told the court that during the robbery which lasted for about two hours, the suspects carted away N99.536 million.‬

Among the haul, he said, were $2.750 USD, and €120 Euro, after blowing up the banks with dynamite.‬

‪The pleas of the accused persons were not taken.‬

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused persons in prisons custody, pending the time they will be properly arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction,the remand application was made pursuant to section 264 (1) and (2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice of Lagos state, 2011.‬

The presiding magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Olajuwon, while adjourning till 23rd of October 2015 ordered that the four robbery suspects be remanded in prisons custody, pending the advice from the Director of Public Prosecution, (DPP), on the matter.‬

She also ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and forward it to the DPP for legal advice.
