President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday 21 September perform the ground breaking for the construction of a 260km highway in Cross River state, east of Nigeria.
Mr. Christian Ita, spokesperson to Gov. Ben Ayade, said that the Highway is one of the two key projects of the current administration in the state.
“Major geo-technical studies have been carried out on the other project, the Bakassi Deep Seaport.
“Upon completion, the hghway will serve as the evacuation route for the Seaport,’’ he stated.
According to the statement, the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, conveyed the president’s acceptance to perform the ceremony in a letter to Ayade.
When completed, the road will reduce travel time from Calabar to Obudu Ranch Resort, from six to two hours
