Terror Alert? Nigerian troops flood Walter Carrington Crescent

Lt General Tukur Buratai: Chief of Army Staff

Nigerian troops took over the Walter Carrington Crescent in Victoria Island in Lagos this morning, disallowing exit and entry, according to reports.

The crescent is the home of many foreign embassies, including the United States, France and the United Kingdom.

No reason has been given for the action, but there were speculations it could be a preemptive action to thwart a terror strike. The military action triggered traffic gridlock in the adjoining Ozumba Mbadiwe Road.
