Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps members with residence behind Development Centre,Presidential Boulevard,Abeokuta, Ogun state, were attacked by bandits on Saturday, the third attack in five months.
The corps members were attacked in the night, while they were fast asleep.
Valuables including money, ten laptops and over twenty-five phone handsets were taken away by the bandits.
A witness said the four bandits at gun point woke up the corps members as they robbed them one by one.
“The robbers,numbering four arrived our place at about 3.00am, they forced their ways into each flat at gun point and thereafter embarked on the raid,unchecked. Two of the bandits moved from one room to other to ransack, while the other two stayed outside to repel any possible resistance”, he said.
“They however,left behind our certificates and other educational documents earlier stolen alongside other valuables. This is the third time the robbers would be raiding us”,one of the victims narrated.
The corp members said they reported the two earlier incidents to the police. But no action was taken.
