Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, will represent President Muhammadu Buhari at the swearing-in ceremony of Nigeria’s immediate past Agriculture Minister, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina as President of the African Development Bank, AfDB. Osinbajo departed Abuja today for Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.
The inauguration will take place tomorrow Tuesday 1 September 2015, in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.
President Buhari actively supported the candidature of the AfDB president-elect in a keenly contested election conducted in May this year even before the Buhari presidency assumed office.
According to Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President (Media & Publicity), the Vice President will speak at the event and return to Abuja later tomorrow.
