Police Service Commission Deploys New Police Commissioners to States

The Police Service Commission (PSC) on Wednesday announced the deployment of commissioners of police, CPs to the 36 states of the federation, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in a posting which resulted in the deployment of Emmanuel Ojukwu, former
Public Relations of the Force as Kogi State Police Commissioner.

Ikechukwu Ani, spokesperson for the PSC said in a statement that the posting was done to invigorate the force for more efficient and effective policing.

“The Police Service Commission has approved the deployment of 37 police commissioners to state commands and the Federal Capital Territory. This is in line with Section 215 of the 1999 Constitution which empowers the Commission to appoint officers to states as Commissioners of Police,” Ani said.

The deployment shows that Ikechukwu Nwodibo moves to Taraba state, J. Habila, Abia State; Adejo Gabriel Adaji, Adamawa State; Muritala U. Mani, Akwa Ibom State; Karma Hosea, Anambra State; Mohammed K. Mohmmed, Bauchi State; P. Okafor, Bayelsa State; Dibai P. Yakadi, Benue State and J. Opadokun Borno State.

Henry Fadairo moves to Cross River State; Usman Bala Alkali, Delta State, P Abdallah, Ebonyi; Chris Ezike, Edo; Etop J. James, Ekiti; Mohammed Adamu, Enugu, Wilson Inalegwu, FCT, Austin Iwar, Gombe; T. Lakanu, Imo; U. Tilli Abubakar, Jigawa; U.U.Shehu, Kaduna; M. Katsina,
Kano; U. Abdullahi, Katsina and Yakubu O. Jubrin, Kebbi.

Others are E. Amadasun, Kwara; F. Owoseni, Lagos; Mohammed Sani Usman, Nasarawa; Abubakar Marafa, Niger; Abdulmajid Ali, Ogun; M. Ogbodu, Ondo; K. Shodipo, Osun; Leye Oyebade, Oyo; Nasiru Oki, Plateau; Hyelasinda Kimo Musa, Rivers; Salisu F. Abdullahi, Sokoto; Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim, Yobe and Femi Ogunbayode, Zamfara.

Mike Okiro, the Chairman of PSC was quoted in the statement as saying the deployment was in line with the Change Agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration. Okiro also asked the CPs to take their jobs seriously and ensure that they were committed to the enforcement of law and order.
