Adebola Titilayo: the mother of seven who stole a baby

Nigerian Police detectives attached to Ewekoro Division of Ogun State Police command at the weekend arrested a nurse and owner of a private “hospital” in Arogun Village, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State for stealing a new baby boy after taking his delivery.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer of Ogun State Police Command in a statement said the nurse, identified as Adebola Titilayo, took the delivery of the baby in the hospital on 13th June, lied and deceived the mother that the baby was dead.

But the nurse was arrested by the police when the mother got a reliable information and immediately informed the police.

The mother, according to the Police was informed by good sympathizers in the community who noticed that the nurse who was never pregnant suddenly started nursing a baby that she could not even breast feed.

They informed the mother who later reported the case to the police in Ewekoro on 7 August, 2015
The Police PRO said in the course of investigation, it was revealed that the suspect, a mother of seven, had children with her first husband.

She has however got married to another “rich” man, whom she wanted to have at least a baby for.

Adejobi added that police operatives have recovered the baby alive and unhurt while the suspect has given credible statement that will assist the police and the matter will soon be charged to court.

The Police PRO said the Commissioner of Police Ogun State,CP Abdulmajid Ali, has commended the police operatives for the good job they did,and directed that the matter be properly investigated so as to get more useful information that will help in the prosecution of the case.
