Nigeria’s police authorities have debunked advertisements in newspapers claiming they are recruiting into the force.

A statement by CP Emmanuel Njoku, the police public relations officer said the adverts were all fake, published by ‘criminally minded persons’, who are bent on defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

“For the avoidance of doubt, there is no recruitment going on at the moment in the Nigeria Police Force,” said Ojukwu.

“We therefore, wish to use this medium to warn members of the public not to be deceived or to fall prey to mischief makers.”
