Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, representing Surulere (Lagos) Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on Tuesday emerged the House majority leader in a major move that may end the crisis that may lead to an end to the leadership crisis rocking the green chamber.

Yakubu Dogara, the speaker of the House announced the nomination of Gbajabiamila, who is the All Progressives Congress candidate for the position on Tuesday.

It will be recalled that the APC had, in a letter signed by John Oyegun, sent to Dogara just before the House went on recess on 23 June proposed Gbajabiamila as the party’s choice to emerge House Leader, while Mohammed Monguno would serve as Chief Whip; Alhassan Doguwa Deputy Speaker; and Pally Iriase as Deputy Whip.

The only nominee of the party not taken care of in the arrangement adopted by the House for the emergence of the principal officers on Tuesday is Monguno.

In the same vein, Buba Jibrin was announced as the deputy house leader, Alhassan Doguwa as the chief whip, and Pally Iriase deputy chief whip. For the minority principal positions, Chukwuma Onyema is the minority house leader; Leo Ogor, deputy minority house leader ; Umar Barde; minority whip, and Binta Bello; deputy minority whip.
