President Muhammadu Buahri on Tuesday asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of Service Chiefs who were recently appointed in acting capacity.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, read who read the letter at plenary said the letter for confirmation of the appointments was in accordance with the provisions of Section18 (1) of the Armed Forces Act, 2004.
It will be recalled that the President had on 13 July announced the appointment of new service chiefs for the Armed Forces.
The President had appointed Maj-Gen. Abayomi Olonishakin, Chief of Defence Staff; Maj-Gen. Tukur Buratai, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Adm. Ibok-Ete Ibas, Chief of Naval Staff.
Air Vice-Marshal Sadique Abubakar was appinted Chief of Air Staff, while Air Vice-Marchal Monday Morgan is Chief of Defence Intelligence.
He also appointed Retired Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno was also appointed as the National Security Adviser.
