Nigeria’s professional wrestler, Godspower Ikpide a.k.a Power Lee, has declared that he has what it takes to wrestle for the Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) African Heavyweight title. The PWA bout, tagged Clash of the Heavies Yaoundé 2015, will take place on 18 September, 2015 at Palais de sports, Yaoundé, Cameroon in Central Africa.

According to Power Lee, born at Olomoro in Isoko South Local Government area of Delta State, after he might have won the title, his first assignment is to present the belt to the governor of his home state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

Power Lee, the first contender to the Pro Wrestling Africa heavyweight title, who won the Nigerian Wrestling Board of Control (NWB of C) national heavyweight title when he defeated De Lion Man on the 19 December 2010, will fight Michel Nodem of Cameroon that country’s
heavyweight champion.

He told TheNEWS Sports that having defended his title against great wrestlers such as Black Heritage, Ugo the Great Nail, Strong Bone Erujeje, Mr. Sharpman, and most recently Mighty Man, whom he defeated during a championship at Alesh Hotel International Ajah, Lagos, he is
more than battle ready to finish off the Cameroon’s wrestler.

Power Lee, who was trained by the duo of Late Abbey City and Jimmy Palm, said his experience would count in his favour at the Clash of Heavies championship. Lee, who has kick-boxing, weightlifting and body building as his other favourite sports, is a powerhouse on its own when it comes to Nigerian pro-wrestling talent in the heavyweight
category.

In his words: “I have what it takes to defeat any opponent that comes my way. I have trained very well to get to this stage. Michel Noudem is my next target. I just want to plead for support from the Delta State governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; Isoko North and South Local Governments, Isoko Development Union and from other well meaning Deltans and stakeholders. I will not disappoint Nigerians in Cameroon. I am using this medium to appeal to government, especially my state, Delta, corporate organizations and other Nigerians to come to my aid in order to make
my dream a reality,” he said.

His opponent whose real name Noudem Michel with the ring name “The Matraqueur” started his wrestling career in 1996 and he is three times champion of the Cameroon Wrestling Federation. In 2003, he participated at the Central African Wrestling Championship in 2007, while he was also part of the BRF Wrestlemania Intercontinental Championship, which was held in Lagos to honour the then Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola.
