Kwara State Police Command is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that criminals are put to rout in the state

The unrelenting effort of the Kwara State Police Command to rid the state of criminals has resulted in the arrest of four men suspected to be members of a six-man kidnapping syndicate responsible for the series of kidnapping cases around the Omu-Aran axis in Irepodun local government area of the state. They are Musa Kadir, Isah Salihu, Suleiman Abubakar and Abdullahi Babatunde, while their alleged leader, Tunde Mumni, and one Saad were said to be at large.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects include a Toyota Camry Car with Registration Number JJJ 795 AL, one locally manufactured single barrel gun, four live cartridges and two expended cartridges.
Briefing journalists on Thursday 23 July in Ilorin, the state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Salihu Garba, who was represented by the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the kidnapping case was still under investigation, while the command is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure the arrest of the duo, especially kingpin, now at large.
The CP also confirmed the arrest of three members of a gang of 10 armed robbers who forcefully entered the house of one Adeoye Adewale Femi in Danialu, Upper Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin, and carted away an undisclosed amount of cash, a Honda Odyssey Car with Registration Number KSF 915 CP, 32 inch Plasma TV, one Tablet and telephone handsets of different makes. He gave their names as Moshood Sanni, Oladimeji Sanusi and Emeka Eyinna while exhibits recovered from them include one Samsung Model Tablet, a Laptop Computer and one cutlass. On investigation, he said, the receivers of the stolen items were arrested which eventually led to the arrest of the three suspects.
While one Ayo Ogundare was arrested for allegedly committing fraud, a one Laptop, two handsets and the sum of N206,000 were recovered from him, Salihu further confirmed that, acting on intelligence, three males suspected to be members of a cult group were rounded up in Oke-Oyi, near Ilorin, while forcefully initiating some potential members. Items recovered from them include an axe, criminal charms and VCD plates which captures the activities of the group. He said: “The identities of the cultists are under wrap to prevent the remaining members from eloping as effort are still on to arrest other members of the group.”
Also recovered by the police were a Toyota Corolla Car with Reg. No AAA 935 BJ and a bag containing assorted documents stolen from the home of one Ramat Olanike Mohammed at Egbejila, Airport road, Ilorin by a gang of four armed hoodlums. In another breakthrough, three suspected members of a syndicate who specialise in robbing innocent people within and outside bank premises were nabbed by the police at the Diamond Bank premises in Tanke area, Ilorin, in an attempt to carry out another act of criminality.
The CP, who appealed to the people of the state to continue to provide the command with useful information that can lead to the arrest of unscrupulous elements in the society, said as soon as investigations are completed on the various cases, the suspects would be charged to court.
