Hordes of militants of the Boko Haram sect are regrouping north east of Gwoza and two other towns.

The newspaper L’oeil du Sahel, which keeps tab on the insurgency disclosed this on its FaceBook wall on Monday, adding that the militants were also sighted in Pulka and Limandara.

According to the report, the militants were just a few kilometres from the border with Cameroon.

It was not clear the purpose of the regrouping, whether the militants want to declare an all out war against Nigeria as well and begin annexing territories all over again.

Gwoza is a Nigerian town border town, which was once occupied by the militants, until they were flushed out early this year, by combined Nigerian forces, South African mercenaries and armies of Nigerian neighbours of Cameroon, Chad and Niger.

On Sunday, 80 militants invaded the village of Kamouna, in Northern Cameroon, killing no fewer than seven persons by burning and destroying about 300 homes.
