Sallah: Pray For Peace, Ganduje Urges Kano Residents

MADUABUCHI NMERIBEH/Kano.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State, northwest Nigeria is full of gratitude to God for ensuring peace and order all through the period of Ramadan and during the Eid’ El Fitr celebrations in the state.

He congratulated residents and security agencies on improved security, just as he tasked Muslims to follow the path of peace and ensure reflections of the teachings of the Holy Prophet in their daily lives.

These were Governor Ganduje’s remarks at Africa House, Government House where he spoke to Muslims and Kano residents on the need to keep praying for peace and God’s intervention in the current security challenges facing the country.

He also solicited for the people’s cooperation so as to ensure government’s efforts in delivering democratic dividends and ensuring adequate development in the state.

“We request members of the public to cooperate with us, to be blessed with the wisdom and motivation to forge ahead to ensure that our state is the best state in terms of development, peace and stability in Nigeria. We shall continue praying to Allah to protect us from the ongoing security challenges. On our side, the government will continue executing projects and programmes for the development of the state,” the governor assured.

Dr Ganduje urged people to continue to submit themselves to the service of God, even after the month of Ramadan so as to be closer to Him forever.

Earlier, the governor, alongside his entourage, attended Edil Fitr prayer held at Sheik Ahmad Tijjani Mosque, Kofar Mata in the Municipal area, led by the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

He later attended Hawan Sallah at Gidan Shatima where he congratulated the Emir on the successful end of Ramadan Period
