The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) on Monday in Abuja said it has picked ex-international Tari Preh as head coach of the national under-16 male team.

A statement by the NBBF Head of Media, Patrick Omorodion, said the former Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria player would be assisted by Ogoh Odaudu.

The team is preparing for the 2015 Afrobasket for U-16 Male holding in Bamako, Mali from July 30 to Aug. 8.

“Some young coaches will be invited to understudy the coaching crew as part of the mentorship and succession plan of the federation,’’ the statement added.

It said the national team was expected to report to camp in Abuja shortly.
