Mr Chuwang Dung, the Special Assistant on Media to Sen. Gyang Pwajok, on Thursday dismissed rumours that his principal had died, declaring that he was “hale and hearty.’’

Dung, in a statement in Jos, said that Pwajok, the PDP governorship candidate in the 2015 general elections, was “enjoying his holiday abroad.’’

“Our attention has been drawn to rumours being peddled by some mischievous elements that distinguished Senator Gyang Nyam Pwajok is dead,’’ Dung said.

According to him, the rumour was “a publicity strategy to distract people from the on-going judicial arbitration process following Pwajok’s appeal against the outcome of the governorship election.’’

He expressed confidence that his principal would emerge victorious at the tribunal, saying that the team was “resolute and focused on reclaiming our mandate given to us by the good people of Plateau.’’

Dung expressed sadness that such rumours could be peddled, and advised against such “evil wish’’ as only God could determine the fate of mortals.

He urged the people to remain calm and steadfast while focusing on the challenges of governance and security.
