Amosun mourns OOU accident victims, pays hospital bill for survivor

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state,southwest,Nigeria has expressed his condolence to the families of the students of Olabisi Onabanjo University,OOU,Ago Iwoye who were killed by a container that fell from a truck last Friday.In addition, he has paid for the medical care of the only survivor of the accident.

No fewer than 10 students from the institution were crushed to death on their way to Lagos from Ijebu Ode along Sagamu-Benin expressway, very close to Sagamu junction on Friday.

Amosun also commiserated with the students and management of the institution for the loss of these future leaders,who according to him,”were the hope of their families and the nation”.

The deputy governor,Princess Yetunde Onanuga, yesterday visited the Babcock University Hospital,Ilishan-Remo in Ikenne local government area where the only survivor of the ghastly accident,Miss Akinbo Laughter Ibukun, a Chemical Science student is receiving treatment.

The deputy governor was accompanied to the hospital by the Secretary to the State Government,Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa and others.

She conveyed the governor’s message to the lady,who expressed happiness and thanked God for sparing her life.

The deputy governor however deposited some undisclosed amount of money for the treatment of the only survivor in the accident.
