Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi on Sunday defeated FC IfeanyiUbah 0-1 at the Rojenny Stadium in Oba near Onitsha to end the Nnewi-based side’s unbeaten home run.
Samuel Chukwudi’s 68th minute goal was all the visitors needed to win and then move to the top of the 2014/2015 Glo Premier League table with 27 points.
The goal was also the first to be conceded by the hosts at home since they joined the elite division this season.
In Kano, Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt forced hosts Kano Pillars FC to a 2-2 draw in a tension-soaked 2014/2015 Glo Premier League match.
The match played at the Sani Abacha Stadium was however nearly marred by angry fans, but for the intervention of security agents.
Kano Pillars went ahead when Adamu Mohammed struck in the 18th minute to put his side in front.
Godspower Aniefiok doubled the lead for the home side in the 47th minute of the entertaining Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 14 encounter with a superb strike.
The visitors however continued to mount pressure on the Pillars’ defence in search of goals, but their moves were thwarted by the combined efforts of the hosts’ back line.
Dolphins’ pressure on their host defence soon yielded results, leading to goals in the 67th and 78th minutes from Godbless Asamoah and Jonathan Zikiye respectively.
