Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said his administration had concluded plans to immediately create employment for over 3,000 unemployed young people in state .

El’Rufai who expressed worry over the high rate of unemployment in the state, reiterated his commitment to fulfilling all his campaign promises, including creating employment opportunity through public and private partnership for youths and women across the 23 local government areas of the state.

Addressing residents of Kaduna North Central today at his first town hall meeting organized by office of Special Adviser, Political (Uba Sani), El-Rufai said the people should be rest assured that creating the jobs will be done as soon as possible to absorb reasonable number of unemployed people roaming the streets of Kaduna over the years under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led government.

According to El-Rufai, directive has been given to employ 10 persons each from the 255 wards in the state to work as Health Inspectors and over a thousand to be engaged to work in the fertiliser plant that would be built in the state soon.

He also disclosed that plans had reached an advanced stage to partner with a private company to engage another 200 persons who would be trained to drive the 200 Brand New Peugeot cars for the new Kaduna Intracity Taxi cabs scheme. He equally revealed that the state government had met with owners of textile mills and the textile union for the reopening of the closed textile mills in state.

While stating that he has briefed President Muhammadu Buhari who promised to also assist, he said once the textile mills are back in operation, over 30,000 employees would be engaged.

He also spoke about the state government’s plans to complete Zaria water project, develop roads, equip hospitals, provide chairs at primary schools and other areas of importance to the masses.
