Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has sacked the General Manager of Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, Ms Mediline Tador.

In a statement signed by Sir Opunabo Inko-Tariah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Sampson Fiberesima, takes over immediately, as the General Manager of the Corporation.

Tador: sacked

Tador had served for 12 years as the GM of the station.

Fiberesima was the zonal Manager of Silverbird Television and Radio Port Harcourt until he resigned a few months ago. No reason has been given for the sack of Ms Tador.

Tador was once Commissioner for Information in the state.She was also once an Editor with the defunct Daily Times Lagos.

Fiberesima’s wife,Florence of the Ministry of Justice was last week appointed Secretary of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry that would investigate former Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

Sampson Fiberesima’s stint in the Silverbird Radio and Television saw a phenomena growth of the broadcasting station making the toast of its listeners in Rivers and environs. The reason for his resignation some months ago is unclear.

However, he is expected to put his wealth of experience in the private broadcasting station into Radio Rivers,which is wholly owned by the state government.

In a post on her Facebook page, Mediline Tador reacted to her removal:

“To the Glory of God, after almost 12 years at the General Manager of the Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation( longest serving GM), my era has come to an end. God has remained faithful in all these years and I have been blessed by all of you. I couldn’t have made any impact without you all. I thank you for being God’s instrument. My hope is built on the Lord and I know that He will continue to do great things in my life. The best is yet to come!”
