*The Kaduna Senator pleads for unity of APC senators

*Says unity of members is essential to Buhari’s success

Senator Shehu Sani said he no longer associates with any of the contending groups in the Nigerian senate.

Sani, who spoke in Kaduna today said he has disengaged himself from both Lawan and Saraki led group and urged the senators to ” accept fortunate and unfortunate situations to live in peace ”

According to him, there is need for the National Assembly , particularly the All Progressives Party, APC Senators to be united if President Muhammadu Buhari must succeed.

Sani who empasized that a divided senate will not help President Buhari in any way , called on all factions and aggrieved APC senators to accept Saraki as the Senate President for peace to reign.

The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th. National Assembly however noted that the rift over the election and emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President should not divide the senate but strengthen it in order to make them work for the interest of masses .

Speaking at an interactive forum with Kaduna Correspondents today, Senator Sani said the lawmakers, just for mere personal interest cannot afford to fail the teeming Nigerians , who queued up in the sun to vote All Progressives Party during the 2015 general elections.

According to the Kaduna based human rights activists , the elected senators should by now accept the Saraki emergence and face the primary duty of lawmaking , which is to make laws that will have impact on lives of the citizens.

“Change can make meaning if it makes value in lives of the people” . He stated.

While noting that APC divided house gave room for PDP to have their way , he advised all aggrieved members to resolve the issues that created the crack.

He however commended former President Olusegun Obasanjo for intervening and reconciling the aggrieved parties.
