Federer wins Gerry Weber title for 8th time

Roger Federer has added another Gerry Weber Open title to his trophy collections, overcoming Italy’s Andreas Seppi 7-6, 6-4 and stretching his head-to-head standing against the Italian 12-1.

The victory made it #Federer’s eighth title in Halle, his first since the tournament was reclassified ATP World Toour 500. He lost in 2012 to Tommy Haas and in 2010 to Llyeton Hewitt.

Federer now has logged 51 tour wins this season, his seventh time since his professional career.

Today’s trophy is Federer’s fourth title this year. He won in Brisbane (d. Raonic), Dubai (d. Djokovic) and Istanbul (d. Cuevas).
