General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Ministry, Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi has assured President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice Yemi Osinbajo of his ministry’s support and prayers to tackle problems of corruption and Boko insurgency militating against progress and development of Nigeria over the years. Kumuyi, who was in Kaduna for a crusade at the Deeper Life Church Camp , Mararaban Rido, Kaduna also noted that it is necessary for all Christian and Muslim leaders across the country to join hands by way of influencing their adherents to shun and fight the monster of corruption as well as the current insecurity caused by Boko Haram insurgents.
According to him, it is good to earn money legitimately and spend judiciously rather than steal the money that belongs to the people and nation. Kumuyi, who spoke to a group of journalists at the Kaduna Airport on his way back to Lagos after the crusade tasked religious leaders to preach messages of repentance and how the adherents can come to God with genuine change of mind.
“As Preachers , we are expected to make our adherents to understand that corruption is evil, sin against God and humanity.” He stressed.
While congratulating President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo for their victory at the 2015 polls, he pointed out that anyone in position of authority should know that such individual is there by God’s ordination and therefore should learn from past mistakes made by previous leaders and see how he can correct them genuinely.
On his expectation about the new government, he expressed optimism that the duo of Buhari and Osinbajo can deliver on their campaign promises considering their past records as individual and public servants. “I believe they mean what they promised voters during their campaign and this is why we should pray for them not to derail.” He stated.
He however, enjoined all Nigerians irrespective of background, tribe and religion to pray always for the new leaders to work and deliver dividends of democracy while their tenure lasted.
