Terkimbi Ikyange: new Benue Assembly speaker

The Benue House of Assembly on Friday elected, Mr Terkimbi Ikyange, as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly.

Ikyange (APC-Ushongo) polled 17 votes to defeat, Mr Terkaa Ucha, (PDP-Tiev), who scored 13 votes.

The 30-member house consists of APC 14, PDP 15, and Labour Party one.

Also, Mr James Ejembi (PDP- Okpokwu) emerged Deputy Speaker with 16 votes against Mr Joseph Ojobo (PDP- Ogbadibo), who polled 14 votes.

The principal officers promised to serve with utmost humility and with the fear of God
