Bode Osinusi, popular Ijebu socialite dies

Prince Bode Osinusi,an Ijebu Ode born popular socialite, who celebrated his 80th birthday last weekend died yesterday morning in Lagos after a brief illness.

The deceased hailed from the Fidipote ruling house in Ijebu Ode and gained prominence in the 70s after Juju musician Ebenezer Obey sang his praises along with his friend, Prince Laide Oropo.

Family sources said he complained of minor fever and was rushed to the hospital,only to die early yesterday.

He was until his death the Chairman,Royal Travels Agency,located in Yaba,Lagos state.

He was buried in Ijebu-Ode today, according to Islamic rites.

The former President of ICAN, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi,who was a very close friend of the deceased expressed shock over his death,saying they were very good friends and age mates.

“It was a big shock to me. We are age mates but never participated in any age grade group. He was a very popular socalite and his death pained me so much.

“I commiserate with the family,his wife and children. May his soul rest in perfect peace”,he prayed.
