Nigeria’s new leader, Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Niamey, capital of Niger Republic.

It was his first foreign tour, since he was sworn in last Friday.

Niger, apart from being Nigeria’s neighbours in the northern part, has also been collaborating with Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram.

President Buhari, in his inaugural speech expressed the gratitude of Nigeria to the country, as well as to Chad and Cameroon, whose armies have also joined the war against the Boko Haram insurgency.

President Buhari is also expected to visit Ndjamena, Chad on Thursday, before heading back home.
