Professor Yemi Osinbajo took the oath at 10.37 a.m.
Buhari took his turn ten minutes after, to the wide acclaim of the audience at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Thereafter, Buhari’s predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan handed over some symbols of authority to the old president to handover to the new president.
Buhari, with Osinbajo was elected in the 28 March election. It was the first time, in Nigeria’s history, that the candidate of the opposition party would defeat the incumbent.
