The Nigerian Army said troops have killed 30 Boko Haram terrorists as they repelled an attack at Mafa, Dikwa, near the border with Niger on Saturday.
Defence Headquarters spokesman, Maj. general Chris Olukolade also said some thousands of euro were found on one of the fallen terrorists, believed to be an Amir by status and a foreigner.
He said many others fled the scene of battle with wounds.
Olukolade said the terrorists also lost a number of weapons and equipment including 13 rifles, a machine gun, rocket propelled grenade tubes and several other assorted ammunition.
Other items recovered included a Toyota Buffalo vehicle while two of their armoured vehicles were destroyed.
