The All Progressives Congress (APC) will hold a two-day retreat for all its House of Reps Members-elect in Abuja on May 25th-26th.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the retreat will be held at the Rockview Hotel Wuse 2 area of the city.

It urged the House of Representatives Members-elect to arrive at the venue where accommodation arrangement has been made for them, by 6 p.m. on Monday, May 25th, as there will be a Cocktail in honour of all Members- elect and party leaders at 8 p.m. of the same day.

”The two-day retreat is part of efforts being undertaken by the party to ensure that the legislators hit the ground running for the benefit of Nigerians,” APC said.

The party at the weekend also held a two-day retreat for senators, where a consensus was built around Senators Ahmed Lawan and George Akume, to gun for the two highest seats in the senate, president and deputy president. The consensus is now being disputed by Senator Bukola Saraki, who said he has 35 APC senators backing his ambition to be the senate president.

Like in the senate, APC members in the House of Representatives are also divided on who out of them should become the speaker.
