Senate summons Okonjo-Iweala, Diezani as fuel scarcity bites too hard

According to a statement by the Chairmen of the committees, Sen. Paulker Emmanuel (PDP-Bayelsa Central) Upstream and Sen. Magnus Abe (PDP-Rivers South-East) Downstream, the Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Managing Director, Petroleum Pricing and Regulatory Agency and the Director, Department of Petroleum Resources were also summoned.
The others were representatives of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria and the National Association of Road Transport Owners.
The statement explained that the Deputy Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Abdul Ningi (PDP-Bauchi Central), on May 21, drew the attention of the Senate to the lingering fuel scarcity in the country.
It added that Ningi had urged the Senate to look into the matter with a view to finding the causes and lasting solution to the problem.
The statement further stated that the committees were mandated by the Senate to investigate the matter and brief it on the outcome on Tuesday, May 26.
The joint committee said the invitation extended to the affected individuals, agencies and groups was to obtain adequate information that would help in the inquiry.

Of course this is artificial. Must we spell it out before we see that people are working so hard to undermine the efforts of these women.
We have witnessed worse in past administration.
Nigerians should forget this senate because since this will not give them anything, they will not take it serious. They are only after anything that will give them money at the end.
Very true my guy. These guys (senators) are just there doing nothing that will benefit the poor messes but what will increase their salary.
The senate can’t do anything because they have the time to do it since but they refuse to it before, why the sadden call to summon both of them ?
Oh…so we even still have a senate ? The important things that will benefit the messes, these so-called senate will not debate it but seat there and get fat salary every month end without delay. Chooo……… Only God will see us through in this country.
The 7th Senate is winding down. Precisely by Monday 25th May, the handover will be in 4 days time. What do these jokers hope to achieve before then?

well with a little patience, lets see how fast the matter can be dealt with, this shouldn’t be one of our major problems in this country, showing some optimism i hope this is sorted out let’s get back to our lives, it;s not easy but they should try……
i think it’s the OML issue, and NNPC issue that instigated the whole thing, some selfish persons refused to relinquish certain access, and thus their greed led to this,
make them leave that talk, na these women cause the wahala wey dey ground, wetin dem fit do to help , cuz na we wey dey the grass root dey feel the heat, dem dey there dey summon,
What next? so after they summon who and who, will the problem just go away ??
