Tony Anenih resigns as PDP Board of Trustees Chairman

Tony Anenih, also known as Mr Fix-It has resigned as PDP Board of Trustees Chairman. According to a statement by the National Working Committee of PDP he resigned “on personal grounds”.

In accepting his resignation, the NWC of the party lauded his contributions to the party over the years especially in his capacity as the Board of Trustees Chairman.

“As one of the founding fathers of the PDP, the NWC appreciates Chief Anenih’s guiding role in the party in the last 16 years and wish him well in his future endeavours,” the party said in a statement issued by Prof Wale Oladipo, PDP national secretary.

PDP NWC said “the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibrin will hold forte pending the election of a new BoT Chairman”.

The PDP has been hit by a wave of crisis since it lost the presidential elections.

Its national chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, resigned on Wednesday after calls by Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose; his Niger counterpart, Babangida Aliyu and Femi Fani-Kayode that he should resign.
