The Nigerian police in the eastern state of Anambra on Sunday debunked media report that a certain restaurant in Awka, the state capital, has been dishing human flesh to unsuspecting members of the public in its menu.
According to the report, the police, had on discovery of the restaurant, closed down the place.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Uche Eze, today told Punch online, “There was nothing like that. I advise you to ignore that report. It’s not true and it did not happen. We don’t have such record. It’s embarrassing.”
Earlier reports which have gone viral on the net said a restaurant selling human flesh in the state had been shut down by the police.
Said the report by BBC: “Residents told police of rumours that the restaurant was cooking human meat for customers.
“Police then raided the restaurant, where they discovered fresh human heads that were still bleeding. The blood was in the process of being drained into a plastic bag.”
