Nigeria military authorities said a band of terrorists who detonated two female suicide bombers ahead of their attack on Ladi Kayamla near Maiduguri on Wednesday evening were swiftly routed by the troops in the area.
The Director Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade who confirmed the incident added that the attack was apparently diversionary with the intention of slowing down the ongoing assault on Sambisa forest.
He added that the attack is believed to have been carried out by those escaping from the terrorists locations that have been routed or destroyed.
Olukolade also stated that normalcy has been restored as the troops conduct mopping up of the area while the offensive on all terrorists forest locations continue.
