Britain’s Prince William and his wife, Kate, have named their second child Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, royal officials said on Monday.

According to the royal report, the name pays homage to the infant princess’ great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth and now deceased grandmother, Princess Diana. The name Chrlotte, a French word is also a tribute to the baby’s grandfather, Prince Charles.

“The princess is the fifth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth.

“Princess Charlotte is the fourth in line to the throne, behind her grandfather, Prince Charles; her father and her 1-year-old brother, Prince George,’’ it said.

However, William and Kate introduced the baby princess on Saturday to the world, just 12 hours after Kate checked into London’s St. Mary’s Hospital to give birth.
It said that the baby weighed eight pounds, three ounces (3.7 kilograms)
