Supplementary poll: INEC officials nabbed for thumb-printing

Despite heightened security presence in Imo, Taraba and Abia states,where supplementary elections are taking place to determine winners of the governorship polls, some unscrupulous elements are still trying to thwart the will of the people.

According to reports, some Independent National Electoral Commission officials were arrested for mass thumb-printing in Oru East local government area of Imo State. They were caught at Umumma Primary School.

Further reports said the men were arrested on the orders of Resident Electoral Commissioner Mike Ighini, posted from Edo State.

The suspects, who were impostors for INEC, were taken to Owerri, capital of Imo state.
