Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin of Arsenal have been challenged by 60m world and European champion Richard Kilty to a sprint race over any distance of their choice.
Kilty made the challenge via his twitter account on Tuesday evening and went as far as putting down £30,000, just so he can disprove recent reports which stated Bellerin is the fastest footballer in a sprint with Walcott not far off.
According to Kilty, there is ”Absolutely no way” Bellerin could have sprinted 40m in 4.42 seconds, tweeting ”I will put £30,000 on the line to race [Hector Bellerin and Theo Walcott] any sprint distance, any time, any place, anywhere.”
The 25-year old further tweeted, ”The race will be over very quick. So if they put their money down I will gladly show everyone they can not sprint as fast as the media claim.”
